Virtual Moment of Joy!
Cheerfully
brought to you by:
KC Christensen-Lang, Joyologist / Success Coach
May 2007
Greetings from Maine!
Can you believe May has flown by?! WHEW! Time goes by sooo fast, so please savor
it! It's so easy for us to get caught up in the stress of our hectic days and
the problems of an uneasy world. That's why we like to take a brief moment to
send this cheerful mini-ezine, your very own
"Virtual Moment of Joy" along to YOU;
Good folks who know that pausing to laugh, sharing a joke or two, hearing happy
news, groaning at a corny pun, rolling your eyes at that crazy cartoon, learning
something, helping others, using humor as a tool...puts things in perspective
and keeps us going! We appreciate you being an important part of making your
little world....no matter where you live.....and this planet....a better,
happier place to be. Thanks to the power of the internet, I frequently hear from
people in different states and countries interested in coaching, business
training, PR consulting, reducing stress, laughter or humor programs and enjoy
getting new subscribers from everywhere! A warm welcome to our latest fun-lovin'
subscribers from Northern Ireland, Maryland, California, Virginia, Colorado, New
Hampshire, Maine and Ohio. YAY! June is right around the corner, so even if you
can't sneak away from work quite yet, as that crazy ol’ comedian, Milton Berle
used to say…"Laughter is an instant vacation." So.....ENJOY! And of
course, let me know how I can support you in your personal growth or
professional development!
Smiling when I think of you,
KC J

spectacular opportunity to plow into all the brilliant ideas we discussed, or
more accurately, that you gave me. Now, I'll be able to write some of the press
releases and articles for online publication that I learned about from you.
Thank you is too small a term for my gratitude for your help, but I'm left with
the limits of language, so.... Thank you!" Marilyn in Texas
QUOTE OF THE MOMENT
”We are not human beings going through a spiritual experience, we are spiritual
beings going through a human experience.”
OUCH OF THE MOMENT
A motorcycle patrolman was rushed to the hospital with an inflamed appendix. The
doctors operated and afterwards, advised him that all was well. However, the
patrolman kept feeling something pulling tight across the hairs of his lower
region and it was becoming quite painful.
Worried that it might have been a second surgery the doctors hadn't told
him about, the cop gritted his teeth and finally got enough energy to pull his
hospital gown up to see what was making him so uncomfortable down there.
Taped firmly across his hair were three wide strips of adhesive tape, the kind
that doesn't come off easily. Written in large black letters was the
sentence....
"Get well quick from the nurse you gave a ticket to last week."
MOM OF THE MOMENT
Courtesy of Bonnie Bufford
A young man shopping in a supermarket noticed a little old lady following him
around. If he stopped, she stopped. Furthermore she kept staring at him.
She finally overtook him at the checkout. She turned to him and said, "I hope
I haven't made you feel ill at ease; it's just that you look so much like my
late son."
He answered, "That's okay."
"I know it's silly, but if you'd call out "Good bye, Mom" as I leave the
store, it would make me feel so happy."
She then went through the checkout. As she was on her way out of the store, The
man called out, "Goodbye, Mom."
The little old lady waved, and smiled back at him.
Pleased that he had brought a little sunshine into someone's day, he went to pay
for his groceries.
"That comes to $121.85," said the clerk.
"How come so much? I only bought 5 items!"
The clerk replied, "Yeah, but your mother said you'd be paying for her
things, too."

TWINS OF THE MOMENT
A woman has twins and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family
in Egypt and is named "Ahmal." The other goes to a family in Spain -- they name
him "Juan". Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his birth mother.
Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a
picture of Ahmal. Her husband responds, "They're twins! If you've seen Juan,
you've seen Ahmal."
PROFESSION OF THE MOMENT
A lawyer is a person who writes a 10,000 word document and calls it a "brief".

CHANGE OF THE MOMENT

the Board www.WorldLaughterTour.com
I dialed a number and got the following recording: "I am not available right
now, but thank you for caring enough to call. I am making some changes in my
life. Please leave a message after the beep. If I do not return your call, you
are one of the changes."
OFFICE GOOF OF THE MOMENT
A secretary was leaving the office one Friday evening when she encountered Mr.
Jones, the new Human Resources manager, standing bewildered in front of the
shredder with a piece of paper in his hand.
"This is critical,” said Mr. Jones, “and my secretary has already
left. Can you make this thing work?"
"Certainly," said the secretary. She turned the machine on, inserted the
paper, and pressed the start button.
"Excellent, excellent!" exclaimed Mr. Jones as his paper disappeared
inside the machine. "It’s a confidential, important document and I figured I
should make at least one copy."

COACHING TIP OF THE MOMENT
I have encountered many people who are down in the dumps lately. Have you
noticed anyone feeling blue? Weary? Are YOU? A number of coaching clients have
felt this lately; all busy, successful, smart professionals with thriving
businesses. After our sessions, we realized that they were burnt out. Two
definitions are: "Exhausted as a result of longtime stress" and
"depleted of strength or energy." If this describes you, please check in
with yourself and take a much-needed break. Have you used up all your vacation
days? Some people have hundreds of unused hours. What are you waiting for? Can't
take time off from work......so have a mini-time out. How about a walk in
nature? Stroking the pet? Linger over a cup of java (and read the upbeat
Coffee News), have a massage, watch a funny video, read a few pages here and
there of good book, call a friend, listen to music. I asked one client about her
hobbies and she burst out laughing. Work was her hobby! And the long hours and
strain was getting to her. What are your hobbies? Do you have any? When was the
last time you did something just for fun? Here at Happiness Is...we
believe in laughing for no reason....playing, having fun is all a part of that!
I know I talk about this alot, but I'm protective of you! And burn-out can lead
to huge health concerns, broken relationships, problems on the job. So please
take time for you. Or does your soul need a boost? If so, read on!
SOUL-BOOSTERS OF THE MOMENT
Several clients and others I have encountered realize that their burn-out was a
result of lack of spirituality in their lives. They were yearning for something
deeper. They were craving fulfillment, a richer life. To get in touch with their
soul. Their spiritual side. They wished for inner peace. How to nourish
your soul? Stop and enjoy the stillness. When was the last time YOU were
quiet? Turn off the news. It's mostly horrible anyway. The radio. The noise of
your surroundings. That endless chatter in your head. Journal if you want. Take
quiet time in nature. Bask in a treatment for a couple hours or a day at a
healing Spa. Spend time at church, a budda temple or a monastry. Pray more. Have
a good cry. Or a laugh. Delve into a spiritual book that feeds your soul. Take a
long nap. Seek spiritual, nurturing people. Browse through a special magazine I
enjoy and learn from every month, called Spirituality and Health at
www.spiritualityhealth.com.
Attend an uplifting conference. Do an online search. Hay House
www.hayhouse.com offers the "You Can Do
It" conference and others. Mishka Productions has a "Celebrate your Life"
conference coming up in June.
www.mishkaproductions.com. There are also online and offline healing groups,
sites and forums to connect with others.
Another option is receiving and watching spiritual based movies from:
http://www.spiritualcinemacircle.com/index12.shtml
Here's what my co-author of my recently published book, "Speaking of Success"
has to say about it......
"It's
not often you can combine entertainment with personal growth but that is exactly
what The Spiritual Cinema Circle offers. These engaging films provide important
messages about life, love and the world we live in."
—Jack Canfield
That's it for now dear readers. Avoid burn-out. Fill yourself Up! Feed your
Soul! Any of you have other ideas to nourish yourself? Please send along and
we'll continue to share with our readers.
HOLIDAYS OF THE MOMENT
Wow...May was packed with special occasions; From Mother's Day to holidays most
appropriate for readers of this Joy Ezine. Folks the world over celebrated World
Laughter Day and National Smile Month. If ya missed these, that’s okay. You can
make up for lost time. Go around your office today, at home, down the street,
give someone a warm smile or share a laugh! Why not? They may think you are
crazy, but hey, you’ll feel better, right?!

DOGGONE PUNS OF THE MOMENT

We were surprised to see the Oscar Mayer vehicle; here’s a photo of Milo and Ben
you will really relish.
They show off the hot dog bun so they can "drive
up in their rolls"! We went inside for a
"frank" conversation. Then we
were told to get our Heinz
off the table.

After a few minutes, our host asked us to get our buns out of there. Seemed like a Gulden opportunity. They took off, shouting “Get a long little doggie," and we couldn't Ketchup with them. We had a weinerful day and thought we’d share it with your readers.
DISGUISE OF THE MOMENT
Courtesy of Ann Champagne
Two weary Priests decided to go to Hawaii on vacation, far away from their
congregations where they could really relax. They were determined to make this a
real vacation by not wearing anything that would identify them as clergy. As
soon as the plane landed, they headed for an island store and bought outrageous
shorts, shirts, sandals and sunglasses.
The next morning they happily went to the beach dressed in their colorful
"tourist" garb.
They were lounging in their beach chairs, enjoying the sunshine, scenery and
frosty drinks, when a drop dead gorgeous, topless blonde in a thong bikini came
walking straight towards them. They couldn't help but stare.
As the blonde approached them, she smiled and said "Good Morning, Father.
Good Morning, Father," nodding and addressing each of them individually,
then she continued walking past them. They were both stunned and peered
after her in amazement. How in the world did she know they were priests?
So the next day, they went back to the store and bought huge sunglasses, big
floppy hats and even more outrageous outfits. These were so loud you could hear
them before you even saw them!
Once again, covered in their new attire, they settled on the warm beach in their
chairs to enjoy the waves, the palm trees, the sun and most of all their
privacy.
All of a sudden, the same gorgeous topless blonde, wearing a different colored
thong, taking her sweet time, came swaying toward them, soaking wet.
Again, to their astonishment, she nodded at each of them, said "Good morning,
Father. Good morning, Father," and started to walk away.
Shocked and stammering to gain composure, one of the Priests couldn't stand it
any longer. "Just a minute, young lady."
"Yes, Father?" she paused in front of them, dripping sea water, and they
gulped, trying to avoid eye contact with the skimpy outfit.
"We are Priests and proud of it, but we are on vacation incognitio, so we are
wondering how in the world do you know we are Priests, dressed as we are?"
She smiled sweetly and replied, "Father, it's me....Sister Kathleen!"
HELP WANTED AD OF THE MOMENT

MEETING OF THE MOMENT
A Harley rider is checking out a gorgeous redhead. Suddenly she sneezes and her
glass eye comes flying out of its socket. The surprised biker reaches up,
snatches it out of the air and hands it back to her.
“I’m so embarrassed,” the woman says. “Please join me for dinner.”
They enjoy a wonderful meal together, and afterward she invites him to the
movies, followed by drinks. She pays for everything. Then she asks him to her
place for a nightcap and to stay for breakfast.
The next morning the guy is amazed and asks, “Are you this nice to every
biker you meet?”
“Not usually,” she replies. “But you just happened to catch my eye.”
