LAUGHTER APP
OF THE MOMENT

World Laughter Tour
Many of you know I am a Certified Laughter
Leader, trained by Steve at the World Laughter Tour.
Sooo, the two of us are always on the look out for all
things that will make us and other friendly folks laugh.
He just found this...There's a new laughter app out for
iPhone & iTouch called iLaughOutLoud. It's the first
decent laughter application that plays genuine
contagious laughter sounds on demand - over 40 different
laughs. But it's more than just a Laugh-Box-On-Steroids.
It has a "Delay" feature that enables you to pick a
favorite laugh, set a timer, and have the laugh start
when wanted. The "Loop" feature enables you to play any
laugh over and over again, which makes it fun to turn
on, and then hide it in a drawer or closet or.... you
get the idea. It's fun, it's contagious, and it's only a
buck! A portion of sales goes to help the Laughter Arts
& Sciences Foundation.

QUESTION OF THE

Isn't
it strange that the same people who laugh at fortune
tellers take economists seriously?

FUN EXERCISE OF THE MOMENT
|
Courtesy of Janessa Oliger
"Take the stairs instead of the escalator or
elevator and feel better” is something we often
hear or read in the Sunday papers. Few people
actually follow that advice. Can we get more
people to take the stairs over the escalator by
making it fun to do? See the delightful results

Yesterday
I accidentally swallowed some food coloring. The
doctor says I'm OK, but I feel like I've dyed a
little inside.
When I bought some fruit trees the nursery owner
gave me some insects to help with pollination.
They were free bees. |
TIPS OF THE MOMENT
|
I
often coach clients who are overwhelmed with
juggling career and life responsibilities and
can’t seem to get a handle on life/work balance.
They say they don’t have the time or energy to
do the things, make the change that will make
all the difference. Here’s what I tell
them…CHUNK IT DOWN! You don’t have to change
your life ALL AT ONCE…it’s all about baby steps.
Simple things, here and there, abit at a time
can make a HUGE difference in your life. No more
excuses that you don’t have time. These take
only minutes and can be mingled into a hectic
day! These real-life examples have helped my
clients shift their energy and started them on
the road to zapping their stress and moving
forward into co-creating a more peaceful,
positive life…
Calm Your Mind! Turn off the radio in your car
for a few minutes and enjoy the peace and quiet.
With constant noise all day, people become over
stimulated and stressed. You’d be amazed how the
silence can calm your mind.
Take a different route home to or from work and
check out new sights and surroundings.
Take a two-five minute break from the desk and
stand outside in fresh air.
Better yet, walk around the block.
Consider taking a lunch break for once. Out of
the office.
Change the channel from the negative news
blaring from the TV once in awhile…check out a
comedy or entertaining show you have never
watched.
Plop on the couch for a quick nap. Can’t do it?
Then lean back in your chair and just close your
eyes for a minute.
Grab one of those books or magazines by your
nightstand or coffee table and this time, really
read and enjoy one or two pages.
Read or listen to a joke or take a few minutes
to review the funny cards in the store...did you
smile or laugh for a minute or two?
Truly
relish that mug of hot coffee or steaming cup of
tea.
Chew slower. Savor the food on your plate.
Light a candle and for a few minutes, reflect on
your blessings, your day, your life.
Smell those flowers, bask in the ocean air, or
the pine trees, or that aromatic bakery..take
the time to rediscover your senses.
Play or pat your pet ….enjoy the connection.
Stop and really listen to your child.
Call a friend for a quick hello or laugh. Don’t
wait for the long conversation; cuz you may
never do it.
Let me know what happens when you try one or all
of these little steps. And please send us some
other Mini-but-Mighty suggestions that really
worked! |

The
power of the internet and the far-reach of our
cheerful little Joy Note just amazes me! I was
missing my family one day and out of the blue, I
received a sweet email from a nice Danish lady
asking if I was her long-lost American cousin!
Sure enough I was! Who would have thought this
ezine could connect in such a cool way?! She had
googled my late Dad's name, found a blurb where
I had honored him in a old Joy Note and spotted
my contact info at the bottom. After a series of
amazing email exchanges, we discovered I have a
huge wonderful family in Denmark! YAHOO! Which
is especially cool to a Joyologist, as Denmark
was voted in a recent study as the happiest
place on earth! |

Into the diner came an obvious frazzled tired
man. "Just give me a couple eggs over easy
and a kind word," he said. The waitress
brought the eggs and started to leave. He asked,
"What about the kind word?" "Don't eat the
eggs," she replied. |

For thirty years, Johnson had arrived at work at
9am on the dot. He had never missed a day and
was never late. Consequently, when on one
particular day 9am passed without Johnson's
arrival, it caused a sensation. All work ceased,
and the boss himself, looking at his watch and
muttering, came out into the corridor. Finally,
precisely at ten, Johnson showed up, clothes
dusty and torn, his face scratched and bruised,
his glasses bent. He limped painfully to the
time clock, punched in, and said, aware that all
eyes were upon him, "I tripped and rolled down
two flights of stairs in the subway. Nearly
killed myself." And the boss said, "And to roll
down two flights of stairs took you a whole
hour?" |

MARITAL CONCERN OF THE MOMENT
Courtesy of Darbie Bufford
|
A married couple in their early 60s was
celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary in a
quiet, romantic little restaurant.
Suddenly, a tiny yet beautiful fairy appeared on
their table.
She said, "For being such an exemplary
married couple and for being loving to each
other for all this time, I will grant you each a
wish."
The wife answered, "Oh, I want to travel
around the world with my darling husband."
The fairy waved her magic wand and - poof! - two
tickets for the Queen Mary II appeared in her
hands.
The husband thought for a moment: "Well, this
is all very romantic, but an opportunity like
this will never come again. I'm sorry my love,
but my wish is to have a wife 30 years younger
than me."
The wife, and the fairy, were deeply
disappointed, but a wish is a wish.
So the fairy waved her magic wand and
poof!...the husband became 92 years old.
The moral of this story: Men who are ungrateful
should remember fairies are female......

FOCUS ON YOUR POTENTIAL FOR THE MOMENT
|
Consider
what columnist Ellen Goodman once wrote, " We
spend January 1 walking through our lives, room
by room, drawing up a list of work to be done,
cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to
balance the list, we ought to walk through the
rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but
for potential. " We're here focusing on YOUR
POTENTIAL! Cuz we know you have lots of it! Let
us know how we can help achieve it and remember
to sprinkle it with joy and laughter as
well......forward on this Joy Note please and
keep in touch!
Sending you warm, happy thoughts from snowy New
Hampshire!
